1st Grade!!!

Wow! I can't believe that this day is here already. Jack started first grade today. I miss him! What a leap for both mom and son to go from half day kindergarten to 7 hours of school. I'm not sure how well I will handle this. Today I am fine, but I am sure as the week goes on and I see so little of my sweet little boy that I will miss him more and more.

We are excited for Jack's teacher this year. Her name is Mrs. Eberle. She is new to his school, but has taught before and also worked as a literacy specialist at a different elementary. She was so organized yesterday when I took Jack to meet her for the first time. Her room was clean and she was great with Jack.

Jack was SO EXCITED this morning. He loves school. He loves learning and teachers and friends. It is good for him and I am glad that he is there. We packed his lunch, had him shower and get ready and off we went. Nixin and I walked him there and said our good-byes. He did great.

I remember saying good-bye to my mom the day I started first grade...I did not do so great.

Other things that have been going on at the Williams' house this week: Murphy has a swollen anal gland AGAIN! What a pain in the butt (Ha! Ha!). Really though, it stinks. She just lays around all grumpy and stuff for a few days until the thing pops itself and then we are free and clear for a couple of months until it re-surfaces. We need to figure out what to do about that. She is doing well though. Nixin has taken it upon himself to take the best possible care of his pooch.

Oh, and yesterday my dad and Debbie came down from their house in Hyrum and took my little guys fishing. They were so excited that they could hardly stand it. They would tell you that the bad news is that they didn't catch any fish, but the good news is that they had a lot of fun. Here they are just before they took off:

I am a little nervous about the switch to first grade.

Good luck with your dog! My parent's dog gets the same problem and it really does stink!!!

WOW! First grade already! Congrats Jack!

Uh, and about Murphy, I won't tell you Brian's comment. You'll just have to ask him sometime.
