Nixin's Birthday Re-cap

Nixin had a great 4th birthday and we wanted to share his day with you. It started off with his favorite breakfast, cereal. He went with Froot Loops:

Then it was present time. A couple of weeks ago Chad and I got a babysitter and went on a date. Just before we left, Nixin asked me where we were going. I told him that we were going shopping and he said "I bet you are going to buy me a shirt for my birthday." So, of course, we had to buy him a new shirt for his birthday:

Nixin has always LOVED baths. We saw this great little toy called the Bubble Blizzard and thought that he would have a blast with it. I'm not sure what he expected to find in his package, but by the looks of the picture, I don't think that he expected the Bubble Blizzard:

After running to the store to purchase batteries in our pajamas, it was time for the bath. He may not have been excited when he opened the package, but after he saw what this thing was capable of, he got pretty excited. It is really neat and it makes quite the bubble bath.

Uncle Luke made Nixin a shark for his birthday present. Nixin thought it was pretty funny.

Even though we could have had a lot of fun with Nixin's "Privacy Party" idea, we went with out the birthday parties this year and met up for bowling instead. Grandpa Rob and Debbie came for a little bit, Luke and his "friend" Lindsey stayed and bowled with us, and we let Nixin invite 2 friends to come along for the fun. He chose Max and Alyssa. Nixin did good and had a lot of fun:

We had pizza and root beer for dinner at the bowling alley. Nixin decided that instead of a birthday cake he wanted Dunford Donuts (that's my boy!) and as always they were delicious:

We had a great day. I love my little Nixin so much. Happy Birthday Nix!

4 Years Old

Today my sweet little boy, Nixin, is 4! I can't believe how fast he is growing.

Here is why I love Nixin:

1. He is fun. Nixin is the one at our house that makes us laugh. He intentionally does silly things to get a reaction out of us. Our house would not be nearly as fun without him.

2. He gives the best loves. He wants to cuddle many times during a day and I, of course, love that.

3. He is smart. He does great at school and is already learning to read! He loves books. He can make his way onto the computer, onto the internet, find new games to play, and figure them out on his own. He knows the Wii way better than I do. It is a true joy to watch him figure these things out.

4. He calls me "Merika Balls" or more recently "Chicka Balls" and I think it is hilarious. He also calls Chad "Chad" and Jack "J".

5. He is a good boy. I can trust him to behave while I'm doing hair. I know that I won't get a call from school telling me that they've had problems with him. I know that he tries his best in primary to sing songs and answer questions. He can play at friend's houses and follow the rules. He is very obedient and I am thankful for that.

6. He is so excited about this new baby. He continually asks questions about it. He reminds me of all of the things that we will need for it (like clothes, binkies, blankets, a crib, a Halloween costume, etc.). He wants to touch my stomach to try to feel it. He is going to be an awesome big brother.

Nixin is great and we all love him so much. Happy Birthday Nixin!

Spiders

Eeewwww! I am so sick of finding these things in my house. I think that we have just reached a grand total of 5 of them in the past 3 days. Who knows how many more are crawling around our house!

I need help finding someone to come spray for the spiders. I don't know who to call. Who do you use? I would love your advice.

15 Weeks

I just got back from my 15 week prenatal appointment. The baby's heart beat was a strong 150 beats per minute and after the week I've had, it was really nice to hear. Dr. Langer said that all of my rest doesn't seem to be making a difference so I should go about life as usual, taking it easy a couple of hours a day. She said that the spotting is normal for placenta previa and that hopefully it will fix itself soon. I feel a lot better having talked to her. I'm sure my family will be glad to have me back too!

Blurg...

So, I lied on my last post. I thought I had made myself better, but as it turns out, this is quite the roller coaster. One day I'm fine, the next takes me right back to my same old story. Fortunately I have a scheduled appointment with my doctor Monday morning. Hopefully we can get this thing figured out. It is getting so tiring laying around all the time!

Doing Great!

I just wanted to make a post to let everyone know that all of my rest has paid off! I am feeling back to normal and the bleeding has stopped- Woo Hoo! I am so lucky to have friends and family who love me. Everyone has been so kind and I appreciate your concern. Hopefully we have made it through this pregnancy's complaications and it will be smooth sailing from here.

Picture

I've been meaning to post the "It's a Boy" ultrasound picture, so here it is:

It's a little blurry, but it's the best that I could seem to get. What do you think? Looks like a boy, right?
As for me, I am still having some bleeding. I have been resting and taking it easy and that seems to help. Chad and I went to a couple of stores last night and walked around a little and that did not seem to help. I will be calling my doctor in the morning to see what I need to be doing. I'll keep you all posted.
