Well...its official. On August 31, 2009 (or sometime thereabout) we will be outnumbered. Yup, it's true. Another bundle of joy is on the way.
I just got back from my first appointment and Dr. Langer (the greatest OB/GYN on the planet) told me that the baby was about 4 cm long and that meant I was about 11 weeks. Dr. Langer brought in a cool little ultrasound machine (instead of the heartbeat monitor...wow how things change) and we could see the little "it" wiggling all over the place. The doctor asked if I could feel it moving, but all I could feel was my upset stomach because I knew I had to get my blood drawn. Blurg....I hate that part.
It is hard to believe that Jack will be 6 when the new baby is born, but Chad and I both have 8 years between us and our youngest siblings...so we are a little ahead of the existing family pace.
So, now you know...and we can finally stop keeping it a secret. I have a feeling in a few weeks my belly would have given away the secret anyway. We are very excited (well, mostly me but Chad will come around) and can't wait to see if we're dealt a three-of-a-kind or a full house :-)
